It started out as a simple hobby when, lo and behold, I realized I have just accumulated 20,000 distinct toy characters in my collection... and the number is still growing. This blog is a great space to share to others just how amazing some of these characters are especially the ones that may have been forgotten or perhaps even those deemed insignificant. Visit Percy's World of Toys as often as you can and witness how the list progresses right before your eyes. Enjoy.

1738. Wheezy
Wheezy (often known as Wheezy the Penguin), is a rubber squeeze toy penguin with a red bow tie. He is voiced by the late Joe Ranft in the second film and Charlie Adler in the Toy Story 3 video game.
Woody finds Wheezy after Andy's mom puts him on the shelf in Toy Story 2. He has lost his squeaker and Andy's mom meant to fix it months ago, but he was put on the shelf and was forgotten. He can't cry out for help due to the dust, which makes his condition worse. He points out the Yard Sale sign out the window. Wheezy is about to be sold, due to his broken "squeaker". Woody calls out Buster to save Wheezy from being sold. He gets Wheezy and straps him in Buster's collar. With Buster running fast, Wheezy is about to slip, but as Woody pulls him up, Woody falls down, so that he is left in the yard sale and subsequently stolen by Al. When Buzz Lightyear plans a rescue, Wheezy, pushed by Rocky and Robot, begs Buzz to rescue Woody. Buzz tells him he'll try his best. While held by Rocky, Wheezy waves goodbye to Buzz and his rescue troops as they leave on their mission. At the end of the film, he gets a new "squeaker" (he credits Mr. Shark for his contribution) and sings his version of "You've Got a Friend in Me", the ending theme of the movie.
In one outtake, when the microphone thrown by Mr. Mike strikes Wheezy, Wheezy apologizes for "hurting" his equipment and reminds him to aim at his flippers, although stating he is not a very perfect catch. Another outtake shows Wheezy inadvertently "swallowing" his recently-replaced squeaker when he gets struck by Mr. Mike's microphone again. Wheezy also got his name from having asthma.
Wheezy does not appear in Toy Story 3, as he was sold at a yard sale five years after Toy Story 2 and only appeared in the archive footage of Andy as a boy. However, Wheezy did also appear in the Toy Story 3 video game voiced by Charlie Adler in toy box mode along with Bo Peep. It is heavily implied that the main reason why Wheezy got sold in a yard sale is because Woody could not help him like he did in Toy Story 2.
