It started out as a simple hobby when, lo and behold, I realized I have just accumulated 20,000 distinct toy characters in my collection... and the number is still growing. This blog is a great space to share to others just how amazing some of these characters are especially the ones that may have been forgotten or perhaps even those deemed insignificant. Visit Percy's World of Toys as often as you can and witness how the list progresses right before your eyes. Enjoy.

3958. Doom-shroom
The Doom-shroom is the most powerful of all of the instant kills, which are able to affect every row when exploding in the middle row. Detonating it creates a crater, which you cannot plant in for a short while. Any Zombies surrounding it will be destroyed in the explosion. It has a damage diameter of 7x7 squares. It will also destroy Lily Pads or Flower Pots if you plant one on them. If there is a Pumpkin planted around the Doom-shroom, it will also be destroyed when the Doom-shroom detonates. It is the 16th plant, and obtained After level 2-8. It looks like an atomic bomb. It can also be collected in the Zen Garden.
This is the atomic bomb of all plants which can easily destroy huge waves of zombies. As it has a very slow recharge time, you will want to plant it when it can destroy the most zombies, or when you most need it. Including an Imitater Doom-shroom can cut its recharge time in half, but may not be required due to its large radius. Bear in mind that it has a much bigger blast radius than Cherry Bombs, so it can easily take out huge waves of zombies. If you want to take out zombies while playing daytime levels, plant one before you intend to use it. In Survival Mode, the Doom-shroom can be used to destroy an entire wave of zombies, simplifying the process of defeating waves if your defenses are
Doom-shroom Seed Packet in the GOTY Version.
low. Planting one in the center row maximizes the amount of zombies it can kill.
A Doom-shroom about to explode
Note: This is not as good a plant for daytime use, as you will need to spend 75 Sun on a Coffee Bean to wake it up. A Jalapeno or Cherry Bomb would be more suitable. You may want to plant the Doom-shroom ahead of time, so as to save time when you need to wake it up and prevent the Zombies from eating it. Also it is a good idea to pumpkin it or else zombies can easily eat it, but it can waste a lot of Sun. Note: The Doom-shroom is not recommended for pool and fog levels, as it cannot attack all six lanes. If used during those levels, save up an extra 25 Sun for a Lily Pad and plant it in the pool directly next to the two land lanes that contain either the most damage resistant or the highest total amount of zombies.
3957. Flower Pot
The Flower Pot can be only planted and is required on the Roof levels, because it allows you to plant other plants on the roof, compared to the Lily Pad on water. Even though it is for planting on the roof, it can still be planted on the front lawn, but not on Lily Pads because the flower pot is too heavy for the Lily Pad to carry. It can not planted on Grave Busters, Spikerocks, and Spikeweeds either.
Plant it on the Roof, and then put a plant in it. Flower Pots cannot attack, and do not have any point outside of the roof levels, but have just slightly above the normal amount of resistance to chewing (for being a cross with the ceramic flower pot). To plant any explosives like Cherry Bombs or Doom-shrooms on roof levels, a Flower Pot is still required. If a Doom-shroom detonates on top of it, it is destroyed and a crater appears in the roof.
A Day level in which all the plants are planted in Flower Pots (Plants vs. Zombies on the iPad)
The strongest anti-zombie barrier in the whole game is when you plant a Flower Pot or Lily Pad, a Pumpkin, and a Tall-nut together, which will hold a zombie for upwards of four minutes (longer when the zombie is frozen or there is a Kernel-pult in the same row).
Note: This isn't as sun-efficient as just a Tall-nut or just a Wall-nut, though the latter can be vaulted/jumped over, and the single Tall-nut setup can be hard to maintain due to its long recharge time.
Note: Spikeweeds, Spikerocks, and Lily Pads can't be planted in pots, nor can Grave Busters, because Graves don't appear on the roof.
You can use it to slow down Gargantuars in emergencies and to make Pole Vaulting Zombies lose their poles, or to provide a few extra seconds before the zombies get to your defenses in levels such as Column Like You See 'Em. Otherwise, use it to plant on the roof. If you want to slow down zombies on the roof, a combination would be a Puff-shroom (by itself) or Wall/Tall-nut on a Flower Pot coated with a Pumpkin (which gives a three-layer defence).
3956. Cactus
The Cactus is the primary anti-air zombies plant. According to its Suburban Almanac entry, it is female.
The Cactus could be any member of the genus Cactaceae, but it most resembles a Saguaro Cactus, but with a red flower instead of a white one.
The Cactus is essentially a Peashooter that shoots spikes, although it can stretch into the air to pop Balloon Zombies' balloons.
Cactuses shoot spikes that can hit both ground and air targets.
She's prickly, sure, but Cactus' spikes belie a spongy heart filled with love and goodwill. She just wants to hug and be hugged. Most folks can't hang with that, but Cactus doesn't mind. She's been seeing an armadillo for a while and it really seems to be working out.
Build a column of them to keep your lawn safe from Balloon Zombies. They also make a good substitute for the Peashooter on any level you might encounter Balloon Zombies. Although the cost difference is negligible, there is a disadvantage that if even a single Balloon Zombie comes into the lane, all of the Cactus will rise and fire at it. If there are no Balloon Zombies, however, you may be better off with Peashooters. It is cheaper in pool levels to use 2 Cattails instead of six Cacti.
3955. Torchwood
The Torchwood lights regular peas on fire when they pass through its flame, adding extra damage and an additional attack to enemies that are near. When planted during the Fog levels, it clears the fog around it for approximately one-and-a-quarter squares. The only other plant that can eliminate fog until eaten is the Plantern.
Although there is a flowering plant family known as Torchwood (Burseraceae [1]), which includes frankincense and myrrh, the name may also be a reference to the eponymous organization in the Doctor Who spin-off series.
Place Torchwoods in any lane in front of any plant that shoots peas to turn the peas into flaming projectiles that do double the normal damage. It also adds splash damage which deals a normal pea's damage to all nearby zombies. However, if a frozen pea passes through it, it will melt, becoming a normal pea that does normal damage. Any zombie with a shield will prevent the splash effect. A flaming pea also defrosts zombies, so using them in combination with Ice-shrooms, Winter melons and Snow peas is not reccommended.
Torchwoods turn peas that pass through them into fireballs that deals
Torchwood in Fog twice as much damage.
Special: doubles the damage of peas that pass through it. Fireballs deal damage to nearby zombies on impact. Everybody likes and respects Torchwood. They like him for his integrity, for his steadfast friendship, for his ability to greatly maximize pea damage. But Torchwood has a secret. He can't read.
Torchwood should only be taken on levels where you plan to use peas in order to maximize the damage potential. You only need one in each lane, but it helps to plant one before placing a second pea-shooting plant in the same lane, as the fireball area damage will be more important than firing twice as fast. Keep Torchwoods behind your regular defenses such as Wall-nuts and Tall-nuts, but far enough to the right that you can place several pea-shooting plants behind it. We recommend using Gatling Peas (remember to upgrade them from Repeaters), so you use the attack increasing bonus from the Torchwood and the multiple and very fast firing from a Gatling Pea. Plan ahead if you intend to use Snow Peas, though, and put them to the right of any Torchwoods, as frozen peas melt when they go through a Torchwood. This is usually not worth it, however, as flaming peas will defrost zombies (this includes freezing from other plants as well). Using Torchwood in conjunction with Freezing Plants is discouraged as the freezing will have little or no effect (Kernel-pult excluded).
If you are using Split Peas to defend against zombies that can bypass your defenses, such as Digger Zombies or Imps (thrown by Gargantuars), you can place a Split Pea to the right of a Torchwood so its rear-firing peas will catch fire, doing extra damage. This works best if you have two or three Split Peas to the right of a Torchwood with other pea-shooting plants behind it.
The Torchwood should not be used in Fog levels for clearing fog because it only clears the fog a small area around it. Use a Plantern or Blover instead unless aiming for the Blind Faith Achievement.
3954. Newspaper Zombie
The Newspaper Zombie is a low-health zombie reading an upside-down newspaper. When it loses it's newspaper, it gets angry and faster. It appears to be an elderly person with glasses and heart-patterned boxers. When your plants destroy the newspaper, it pauses, a question mark appears above his head, then it quickly charges forward at your plants in a rage. Melon-pults, Winter Melons, Fume-shrooms and Gloom-shrooms damage both the zombie and the newspaper at the same time. It Is first encountered in Adventure Mode level 2-1. It is the sixth Zombie to be encountered in Adventure Mode.
Absorbs 16 normal damage shots. Newspaper absorbs 8 normal damage shots. Appearance changes upon absorption of 4 normal damage shots and dies after 8 normal damage shots. Newspaper's appearance changes upon absorption of 3 and 6 normal damage shots and is destroyed after 8 normal damage shots.
The newspaper is useless against the lobbed-shot plants, instants, the Fume-shroom, and the Gloom-shroom. In Wall-nut Bowling and Wall-nut Bowling 2, the zombie loses the newspaper after being hit by one Wall-nut, and dies after a second hit, like the Conehead Zombie. The Newspaper Zombie pauses and charges very quickly towards the end of the row after your plants destroy the newspaper, so you will need to be fast in order to kill it. The Snow Pea, Winter Melon, or Ice-shroom are effective for this, as they can slow its movement leaving plenty of time to kill it. If you are facing multiple Newspaper Zombies, Ice-shrooms and Peashooters can be used effectively to paralyze and kill them.
3953. Kernel-pult
The Kernel-pult is an offensive lobbed-shot plant available in roof levels. It launches either small normal-damage kernel or bigger double-damage butter which temporarily immobilizes zombies (butter does not immobilize for a while). Like other lobbed-shot plants, the Kernel-pult fires at a rate of 1/2x, meaning that the light or normal damage is an average of the damage of the kernels and butter respectively. The Kernel-pult along with its kernels are the species of zea mays or maize.
Kernel-pult Seed packet in the iPad version
Two Kernel-pults next to each other horizontally can be upgraded into a Cob Cannon.
Kernel-pult is the eldest of the Pult brothers. Of the three of them, Kernel is the only one who consistently remembers the others' birthdays. He bugs them about it a little, too.
The Kernel-pult is best used in conjunction with other lobbed-shot plants (including other Kernel-pults), since it does not do a good amount of damage reliably.
They are also good when used in conjunction with Spikeweeds or Spikerocks since if they freeze the zombie while it is standing on the Spikeweed/Spikerock, the zombie will take large amounts of damage from the Spikeweed/Spikerock.
A Kernel-pult requires a bit of luck as the only reason why it can be useful is it has the chance to stun with butter while a kernel does hardly any damage and you would be better off with a Cabbage-pult.
This lobbed-shot plant is more useful than the Cabbage-pult overall, since it can stun, but if you want a better one, go for the Melon-pult. This plant is best used to increase the effective damage output of other plants; it can slow the zombies, giving your plants more time to deal damage. At the beginning of a level, plant a Cabbage-pult and then two Kernel-pults; when two or three are used in a single row the zombies get buttered much more frequently.
It is especially important during roof levels as the incline of the roof will upset the firing of peas, spores, etc. It can also hit Screen Door Zombie and Ladder Zombies over their doors and ladders, and Snorkel Zombies while they're underwater. It prioritizes Gargantuars over other zombies, making this a useful weapon against it.
It is best to use a combination of Cabbage-pults, Kernel-pults, then Melon-pults. It is a good idea to eventually replace Cabbage-pults with Melon-pults, and then with Winter Melons.
3952. Jack-in-the-Box Zombie
The Jack-in-the-Box Zombie is a zombie in a strait jacket carrying an exploding jack-in-the-box. If the jack-in-the-box explodes before the zombie has been killed, the zombie is destroyed along with all the plants around it (it has the range of a Cherry Bomb), although other zombies will not be harmed. Its weakness is the Magnet-shroom, which takes the Jack-in-the-Box. This zombie can be useful for saving some sun for Cherry Bombs if you hypnotize it and it detonates around the zombies, but it will be very deadly on Survival: Endless if it detonates next to (a) plant(s) crucial to your setup and can take a few flags to recover from if you don't fail before you recover. It is the sixteenth Zombie you will encounter in Adventure Mode.
A Magnet-shroom will remove the Jack-in-the-Box, but this will not work in levels with a high density of zombies. It's a good idea to plant a Wall-nut or Tall-nut in front of them in Survival: Endless, as there will be too many zombies to counter them all properly. During the Night, use a mixture of Fume-shrooms and Gloom-shrooms.
In Vasebreaker, the Jack-in-the-Box Zombie always explodes as soon as it is revealed, so if you find it in a vase with a Plantern, it is best to not break the vase and leave it there until there are no vases nearby that it could destroy. If it's Jack-in-the-Box is stolen right as you break it's vase, it will march toward your house as it would in survival or adventure. It also destroys nearby vases and reveals their contents.
Note that a hypnotized Jack-in-the-Box Zombie will blow up other Zombies when it explodes, and not harm your plants, making it a point to hypnotize them in large waves of zombies.
Because there are no Jack-in-the-box Zombies in the online version of Vasebreaker, the Jack-in-the-box Zombies are replaced with a red Dynamite, which has the same function. Once the fuse in the Dynamite runs out, it will explode in a similar fashion.
3951. Cob Cannon
The Cob Cannon is an upgrade plant which can be purchased from Crazy Dave at his shop and must be planted over two side-by-side Kernel-pults, which must be placed one in front of the other in the same row, horizontally planted. Cob Cannons cost $20,000 to buy in Crazy Dave's Shop. It takes exactly 36.41 seconds to generate a new cob, It is the final plant.
The Cob Cannon costs 500 sun to place and does not fire automatically. Instead, it has a missile effect and animation. The missile itself is a corn cob which takes about 36 seconds for the Cob Cannon to load. Once it is ready, the player can click on the Cob Cannon and then use the crosshair to aim the shot. You can also right click to cancel the launch or you can click on the shovel two times to cancel the launch. The cob has a devastating effect, much like that of a Cherry Bomb, but will still require two hits to kill a Gargantuar, as all explosives do. The missile usually takes about 2-3 seconds between launching and detonating. The Cob Cannon, although highly expensive, is very effective and can dominate entire waves of Zombies very quickly, as the cobs do not use up sun between firings. Think of it as a reusable Cherry Bomb, if you don't plan to use it much, stick with the Cherry Bomb, but if you plan to use an explosive over and over again, use the Cob Cannon. The Cob Cannon is better than the Cherry Bomb in 3 ways. First, it is reusable. Second, its cob recharges faster than a Cherry Bomb. Third, it's cob can be fired on plants (including itself) and ice (without the need of a Jalapeno) or the pool (without the need of a Lily Pad), while a Cherry Bomb needs a Lily Pad for pool (flower pot for roof) use and cannot be planted on other plants (besides the Pumpkin and Flower Pot) and ice. In a few words, it is a ballistic missile in corn-cob form.
Note that the Cob Cannon can be eaten at the normal rate, despite its size, and cannot be protected with Pumpkins. Thus, they must be placed carefully. Fortunately, however, Bungee Zombies cannot target them. Be careful when clicking on sun that appears or falls over a Cob Cannon, as you may accidentally engage it. If this happens, you can cancel it either by clicking on a seed packet, pressing the Esc button or right-clicking. If you just click at a Cob Cannon thinking it may disengage, be warned as it will only shoot itself, (but not destroy itself) and wastes your patience on waiting for some Cobs that appear 36 seconds after recharging. They are good to use in almost every level.
3950. Zombie Yeti
The Zombie Yeti is the last zombie for the player to encounter, because its first appearence is only at Dark Stormy Night (level 4-10, the second time Adventure Mode is played) and some mini-games.
A rare and curious creature.
Toughness: high
Special: runs away after a short while
Little is known about the Zombie Yeti other than his name, birth date, social security number, educational history, past work experience, and sandwich preference (roast beef and Swiss).

3114. Wall-nut
The Wall-nut is a defensive plant that acts as a shield for your plants. Place a Wall-nut in front of your plants to block the zombies. Vaulting Zombies can jump over it but it cannot jump over a Tall-nut. It is named after the the edible seed walnut, specifically the Juglans regia.
Wall-nut Seed Packet in the iPad version. Acts like a stalling plant that makes zombies eat it to waste time. It is obtained after beating level 1-3.
Wall-nuts have hard shells which you can use to protect your other plants.
Toughness: high
"People wonder how I feel about getting constantly chewed on by zombies," says Wall-nut. "What they don't realize is that with my limited senses all I can feel is a kind of tingling, like a relaxing back rub."
Trivia
- The Wall-nut freezes while zombies are chewing on it, just like the Tall-nut (however, in DS version it's still moving).
- This freezing effect are also happens to the Lily Pad, the Plantern, the Pumpkin, and the Flower Pot.
- The Wall-nut is one of five plants that will slowly degrade as they are eaten/damaged. The others are the Pumpkin, Tall-nut, Garlic and Spikerock.
- The Wall-nut, the Magnet-shroom, the Threepeater and Squash are the only plants that are seen smaller other than on the lawn. The Wall-nut and is seen as small as Crazy Dave's hand when he talks to you before playing Wall-nut Bowling (Level 1-5); the Magnet-shroom, the Threepeater and the Squash are seen on Crazy Dave when he tells you that you have to buy the full version when you're playing Plants vs. Zombies trial after completing level 2-4.
- In the Plants vs Zombies website, when on the Zombatar tab, a Wall-nut with a red hair can be seen in a corner of the screen.
- Wall-nut is a male plant.
- The Wall-nut in almanac when you playing Wall-nut Bowling and Wall-nut Bowling 2, you will see a Wall-nut rolling.
- The Wall-nut, Cob Cannon, Starfruit, and the Gatling Pea are the only plants with mini-games dedicated to them.
- Wall-nut has two Mini-games related to him: Wall-nut Bowling and Wall-nut Bowling 2.
- Wall-nut originaly had another Mini-game like Seeing Stars, it still exists, but only avalible with cheats.
- The Wall-nut has the most variations, regular, Explode-o-nut, Giant Wall-nut, Imitater and Wall-nut Zombie.
- The Wall-nut and the Regular Zombie (and its variants) both have the same eye design. The bigger eye is just flipped over.
- The Wall-nut is grown in the Zen Garden with no roots.
- If you look closely, the Wall-nut's mouth moves as if it is saying something.
- In Wall-nut Bowling and Wall-nut Bowling 2, Pole Vaulting Zombies will jump quite earlier before the Wall-nut rolls 1 square in front of it.
- According to the Tree of Wisdom, Wall-nut and Chomper were once roomates in college, which is why they work well together.
- Occasionally, the Wall-nut will end up blinking while a zombie is eating it, due to the freezing of its animation.
- Sometimes the Wall-nut will squint one of its eyes.

2937. Digger Zombie
The Digger Zombie uses its pickaxe to dig through the ground towards the left side of the lawn, allowing it to attack the player's plants from behind. It will pause for a few seconds before proceeding to eat your plants once it has resurfaced. It is not present on Roof levels, as there is no soil to dig through there, but appears on XBLA co-op roof. Without advance preparation, they have the potential to do devastating damage to rows of plants. It is first encountered in the Fog levels. Note that as it eats the plants from left to right, it never makes an attempt to get into the Homeowner's house. It is suggested to put a Spikeweed or Spikerock as it won't damage your plants as much (the Spikerock kills it before it can do any damage).

2921. New Dancing Zombie
Although this Michael Jackson-inspired zombie was present in the game before Jackson's death, the estate of Michael Jackson objected to its inclusion in the game (more than a year after his death), claiming it resembled Michael Jackson too closely. PopCap Games agreed to remove the zombie from the game, and replaced it with a more generic disco-dancing one in a leisure suit and afro in an update to all future releases of the game.
2920. The Squash
The Squash is a single-use plant that attacks zombies in a tile directly to the left or right of it by squashing them.
The Squash appears to be loosely based on the Butternut Squash[1], one of several species of Squash.
When planted, the Squash waits until it sees a zombie in an adjacent square (to the left or right), which will be known, as the Squash's eyes will turn around to the zombie and make a "hmm?" noise as if disapproving, and then it will pounce, crushing the zombies in that square.
The Squash is an excellent plant to use in early setup against that one zombie or tight group of zombies which are too strong for the current defense or that managed to sneak through.
You got a Squash!
However, plant slots are generally too valuable for this plant to be of frequent use in earlier levels, though they are good against Gargantuars and Zombonis, and are excellent for Survival: Endless after you finish your setup. The Bobsled Bonanza Mini-game is one level that the Squash really shines on (although some setups need no Instant Kills at all), because of its relatively cheap cost and ability to destroy a Zomboni, but it only squashes one or two of the Zombie Bobsled Team in one hit, so use a Wall-nut or Tall-nut to make the zombies stack up. It is also helpful in the Column Like You See 'Em and Pogo Party Mini-games. One thing to remember is not to stack Squashes in one lane. For example, in the Roof levels, if a Bungee Zombie drops a zombie in the middle of the Squashes, two or three Squashes will squash only one zombie.
2919. Conehead Zombie
The Conehead Zombie is the third zombie the player encounters in the game, after the ordinary Zombie and the Flag Zombie. It is a zombie with a traffic cone on its head for protection. It is relatively easy to defeat, as it has somewhat low health, but it can only be directly hurt once the cone has fallen off of its head. It is the third Zombie encountered in Adventure Mode.
His traffic cone headpiece makes him twice as tough as normal zombies.
Conehead Zombie shuffled mindlessly forward like every other zombie. But something made him stop, made him pick up a traffic cone, and stick it on his head. Oh yeah. He likes to party.
This zombie is not at all difficult to stop. A Snow Pea, two Peashooters, or a Repeater can take it down easily. It is weak to almost all strategies, so your basic setup should take it out. However, do not underestimate it, as it can be a threat in the early levels and beginning of the game. A single Peashooter can be sufficient to kill one, but two or three work better, especially if there are multiple zombies to be killed.

2899. Backup Dancer
The Backup Dancers are summoned by Dancing Zombies and appear in sets of four around them, dancing around him showered by disco lights. He is the tenth Zombie you will encounter in Adventure Mode. This zombie is also encountered when you encounter the Dancing Zombie. Unless you kill the Dancing zombie first.
Note: The old Backup Dancers would dance Michael Jackson's Thriller around him.

2891. Melon-pult
The Melon-pult lobs watermelons at incoming zombies. These melons smash on impact, causing slight further damage to other nearby zombies (within one square in any direction). Since it's melons do 4 times the damage of a pea, and it shoots 1/2 times of a Peashooter, therefore, the Melon-pult has the same damage rate of a Repeater, only except it can injure more zombies outside its melon, and can also shoot over the Roof. Melon-pults also cost less than four Peashooters. The Melon-pult can fire over the shields of Ladder Zombie, Screen-door Zombie, and Trash Can Zombie.
Both the Melon-pult's shape and projectile are based on Citrullus lanatus, the common watermelon. This is the last plant you gain in Adventure Mode before the final stage.

2853. The Jalapeno
The Jalapeno is a high-damage explosive that can clear an entire lane of zombies and even melt Zomboni's ice.
Its shape and name are based on the chilli pepper, valued for its spicy flavor. It will make an instant kill on most zombies.
Jalapenos can be good last-minute saves, since they can be planted behind an incoming wave, clearing the entire lane.
Jalapeno in Zen Garden
Also, since a Jalapeno will melt ice as well as destroy a Zomboni and ladders, it makes a great addition to any levels with them; this is why Jalapenos are of great help in the Mini-game Bobsled Bonanza. It takes two Jalapenos to kill a Gargantuar, so keep that in mind. You can also use a Jalapeno on a Gargantuar when it throws its Imp, as it will be destroyed along with the Gargantuar.
Jalapeno Zombie
When dealing with Dr. Zomboss in the boss battle, the Jalapeno will destroy incoming snowballs he sends, as well as do some damage to his Zombot (if his head is shown).
Note, however, that Jalapenos also unfreeze any zombies that can survive it, (Gargantuars, Giga-Gargantuars and Dr. Zomboss) in the same manner as Torchwood fire.
2852. The Peashooter
The Peashooter is the very first plant obtained, and the first combative plant used by the player. It is the only regular offensive plant available until one obtains the Snow Pea in level 1-6.
The design for the Peashooter appears to be loosely based on the Codonopsis pilosula, a type of bellflower, and its weapon a reference to the pisum sativum.
Its name is a pun on "pea" and "pea shooter", which is a toy consisting of a long tube that the user can blow through to shoot dried peas or small bits of paper, like a weak gun. A peashooter can be considered an automated, living pea shooter, going along with its namesake.
The Peashooter is the standard firepower in your floral arsenal, and the first offensive plant made available to the player. This is the only plant used in level 1-1 in Adventure mode. The plant is meant to be placed in the lane of an oncoming zombie, where it will fire upon the zombie with peas until it has been neutralized (fires one pea per 1.4 seconds). Peashooters are useful for early defense, so once the player has sufficient Sun, perhaps from Potato
2851. Cherry Bombs
The Cherry Bomb is the first explosive plant that you will receive in the game. It is given for completing Adventure mode level 1-2. The Cherry Bomb reaches up to three lanes and two squares in each of the three lanes. It can kill zombies on a 3x3 area through its explosion. The Cherry Bomb also destroys Balloon Zombies and Digger Zombies. Even though it is a plant that does massive damage, it can only do half damage the Gargantuar and 33% damage to the Giga-Gargantuar. Gargantuars explodes Cherry Bomb but has a bandaid. It is shaped like actual cherries that grow on the same stem, Prunus avium, and named after the kind of spherically-shaped firework.
The Cherry Bomb explodes almost instantly after being planted. It has a very short fuse of about 1.2 seconds, but will not cause damage to zombies if eaten before it has the chance to explode. It is a one-time use plant, but can be planted as often as required.
On detonation, it destroys zombies within one square from its location (diagonally as well as horizontally and vertically). It can also remove ladders placed by Ladder Zombies. Like other Instant Kills and Explosives, it can destroy any zombie except for the Gargantuar or Giga-Gargantuar in one shot.
2850. Pole Vaulting Zombie
Pole Vaulting Zombies are blonde-haired, jersey-wearing zombie track stars. They vault over the first plant they encounter, except for Tall-nuts, hile they just run over the top of Spikeweeds and Spikerocks. He is the 4th zombie you will encounter in Adventure Mode.
Absorbs 20 normal damage shots. Appearance changes upon absorption of 10 normal damage shots before dying at 20 normal damage shots.
Use Tall-nuts to block the Pole Vaulting Zombies or plant cheap plants (such as a Puff-shroom) in front if it to make it lose its pole. Squash also works great, but the slow recharge time won't let you kill every Pole Vaulting Zombie. Magnet-shrooms, unfortunately, do not affect its pole, so it really reduces the chance of trying to prevent the jump without a Tall-nut.
If there are two Peashooters in a row when a Pole Vaulting Zombie has just entered, they will be able to take it down before it gets to the end of the row
