It started out as a simple hobby when, lo and behold, I realized I have just accumulated 20,000 distinct toy characters in my collection... and the number is still growing. This blog is a great space to share to others just how amazing some of these characters are especially the ones that may have been forgotten or perhaps even those deemed insignificant. Visit Percy's World of Toys as often as you can and witness how the list progresses right before your eyes. Enjoy.

2558. Mazinger Z
Mazinger Z is a fictional mecha from the anime and manga series of the same name, created by Go Nagai. Within the story, Mazinger Z was created by Professor Juzou Kabuto and piloted by his grandson Kouji. Mazinger Z is often credited as the first piloted robot, making it the ancestor of the wildly popular mecha genre.
Mazinger Z (マジンガーZ Majingā Zetto) was also known briefly as Tranzor Z in United States. The first manga version was serialized in Shueisha Weekly Shōnen Jump from October 1972 to August 1973, and it later continued in Kodansha TV Magazine from October 1973 to September 1974.[2] In December 1972, the anime version premiered on Fuji Television. The TV series ended September 1, 1974. A second manga series was released alongside the TV show, this one drawn by Gosaku Ota, which started and ended almost at the same time of the TV show.
