2158. Dim

Dim is usually mothered by the black widow spider, Rosie. He is the largest and strongest insect of the circus troupe, and also provides the transport to Heimlich, Tuck and Roll, and Rosie.

When the circus bugs perform their magic act in front of Hopper, Dim's provides a refuge for the Queen when she is made to look like she is put into the Chinese Cabinet. Dim also helps Dot scare the evil grasshopper Thumper away. When the ants load Hopper into the circus cannon, Dim jumps onto the cannon, ready to blast Hopper away, but rain begins to fall before he can do so.

At the end of the film, some of the Blueberries try to hide under Dim's wings to go on tour with the circus, but Rosie spots them. As the circus troupe leave the island, Dim carries the wagon, leaving Heimlich to be carried by Manny and Francis instead.

2157. Hayden Leslie Panettiere as Dot

Dot is one of the main protagonists in Disney/Pixar's 1998 hit A Bug's Life. She is voiced by Hayden Panettiere.
Dot is the younger daughter of the Queen of the Ant Colony and is a princess. Her older sister Atta is the the heir to the throne. Dot is initially Flik's only friend and supporter. She is a member of the Blueberries, a group similar to a scout troop. Like her sister and mother, she has wings, but they are not fully grown in due to her age. By the end of the film however, she is capable of flight.

Hayden Leslie Panettiere  is an American actress and singer. She came to professional prominence at the age of 10 with her portrayal of Sheryl Yoast in Disney's Remember the Titans, although for five years before that, Panettiere had held roles in two soap operas. She portrayed Sarah Roberts on One Life to Live (1994–1997), and Lizzie Spaulding on Guiding Light (1996–2000). Panettiere reached a wider audience with her starring role as cheerleader Claire Bennet on the NBC television series Heroes. She also had a leading role as Kirby Reed in the horror film, Scream 4, which was released in theaters on April 15, 2011.

1867. Flik

Dave Foley is the voice behind Flik.

Every season, a colony of ants are expected to gather food for a protection racket of grasshoppers. One ant, Flik, is a promising inventor who is not appreciated due to his inventions causing trouble. While trying out a mechanical harvester, he accidentally knocks the pile of food into a stream just before the grasshoppers arrive. The grasshopper leader, Hopper, gives the ants the rest of the season to gather more but orders double after Flik stands up to him in defense of the Queen's young daughter. As a result of his mistake, Flik is admonished by the colony's council. When Flik suggests that he try to recruit warrior bugs to fight the grasshoppers Princess Atta allows him to do so, but only as a fool's errand to get rid of him.
Flik reaches the insect city, which is actually garbage under a trailer from a human's point of view. He encounters a troupe of unemployed circus performers and mistakes them for the warriors he needs. At the same time, they believe him to be a talent scout who wants to book their act. They return to the colony, to Atta's surprise, and are greeted as heroes who can fight the grasshoppers. After a well-meaning presentation by the ant children of the "heroic" events theoretically about to unfold, Flik and the troupe realize their misunderstandings with each other, raising Atta's suspicions. While about to leave the colony, the troupe reconsider when they manage to save Dot from being attacked by a bird.
